This round variety of plum has a sugary-sweet center inclosed in a tart, fruity peel. Enjoy as a snack, bake into desert, slice onto yogurt, or make a compote for Sunday waffles.

2 | Heirloom Tomatoes - Peak of Abundance, Spokane Valley, WA

Some of the first tomatoes of the season!! This versatile fruit can top your favorite salad, be the base of a soup or sauce, or give any dish a delicious summer flare. Try this Homemade Salsa, Tomato Basil Bruchetta, or my favorite during this heat wave... a Caprese Salad!

3 | Purple and Green Bell Peppers - Full Bushel Farm, Medical Lake, WA

The first peppers of the season with their pleasant bite of crisp bitterness! These peppers can be chopped thinly into a fresh pico de gallo or sauteed for fajitas!

4 | Slicing Cucumbers - Vinegar Flats Farm, Spokane, WA

My favorite veggie.... the possibilities are endless with this one.  Quick pickle to top any dish, toss with tomatoes, basil, and feta topped with olive oil and a balsamic reduction, or add it to a fresh, summer quinoa salad!

5 | Walla Walla Red Onions - Vinegar Flats Farm, Spokane, WA

A staple to have on hand for sandwiches, sautees, or quick pickled veggies!

6 | Swiss Chard - Vinegar Flats Farm, Spokane, WA

Swiss chard, or rainbow chard, is a leafy green often found in salad mixes. Try it sauteed with garlic and lemon or layer it into this galette recipe.
